Overview
This document explains how to manually export the day's student absences from
Aspen/MyEducationBC, and send notifications via your Sunnycrest High App Dashboard.
When you're ready to set up automatic file transfers to automate this, contact Support.
If the email address matches Sunnycrest High app account, the parent will receive the notification
via app push notification, or by SMS text or email if they chose one of those options.
Otherwise, the parent will receive an automated voice call, SMS text, or email
depending on the Appazur configuration for your school district.

Aspen/MyEducationBC Export
Generate the Aspen/MyEducationBC exports:
Step 1
If you are using MyEducationBC, use the predefined "Synrevoice" parent export,
which produces a CSV file containing pupil number and the corresponding parent email.
Step 2
In this step, you export the day's student absences to a TXT file.
If you are using MyEducationBC, use the predefined "BC AutoDialer - Synrevoice" export as shown below.

Step 1 (CSV):
- In your Dashboard from a desktop browser, click Import Parents for Absence (MyEdBC) (under Messaging > Mass Notification).
- Click Add Import Data (top right).
- Click Choose File and pick the CSV file, or drag and drop it onto the highlighted area.
- Click Continue and wait for the "dry run" results to appear.
- Scroll through the output and review any lines starting with "WARNING" or "ERROR".
- So far you've just done a "dry run". To really import the data, click Import (and OK when prompted).
- Scroll to the bottom of the resulting output and make sure it doesn't say "ERROR".
Step 2 (TXT):

- Click Choose File and pick the TXT file, or drag and drop it onto the highlighted area.
- Click Continue and wait for the results to appear.
- Review the "Dry Run" results; i.e. what notifications the system would send out:
- For each student with an absence, the report shows if a PUSH, VOICE, SMS (text) and/or EMAIL notification will be sent.
- If the parent has not installed AND signed in to the Sunnycrest High app, or opted in to SMS or email,
we'll send a voice message or email.
- You'll see "Voice: ###-###-####" in the report if an automated voice call will be made.
- To send the notifications, click Import (and OK when prompted).
