Aspen/MyEducationBC Parent Notification of Absence

Overview

This document explains how to manually export the day’s student absences from Aspen/MyEducationBC, and send notifications via your Sunnycrest High App Dashboard.

Notifications

If the email address matches a Sunnycrest High app account, the parent/guardian will receive an app push notification, and/or an SMS text or email if they have opted in to one of those options.

Alternatively, or in addition, the parent/guardian may receive an automated voice call, SMS text message, or email depending on the Appazur configuration for your school district and the contact information you have available for that contact.

SFTP Automation

Appazur accepts files manually via the Appazur Dashboard, or via SFTP file transfer. Contact Support for more information about SFTP.

Aspen/MyEducationBC Export

The first step is to export the current day’s student absences from MyEducationBC to a TXT (fixed-width) file.

On the Attendance tab, check the checkbox to select all records. Then click the Options button, and choose Export. If you are using MyEducationBC, use the predefined “BC AutoDialer - Synrevoice” export as shown below.

The options should be:

We need the file exactly as it was exported from MyEd. Your computer may or may not automatically open the resulting file in a text editor.
