OneRoster

Overview

The OneRoster format is supported by many Student Information Systems.

You can import your class roster from your SIS, so that students can be automatically subscribed to their classes, instead of having to manually subscribe in the app.

You can import the list of all classes for the current year from your Student Information System (SIS). Appazur Support can customize how classes are listed, to ensure that a student or parent can find the correct section of a course to subscribe to. For example, we can configure your app to append the period, section, and/or teacher's name to the course name provided by your SIS.

Skyward SIS

Here is the OneRoster Export menu in Skyward:

Choose the Export Template you used last year, or click Add if this is the first time.

On this Skyward screen, you can export a ZIP file containing all the information needed.

Click Save and save the ZIP file for use in the next step.

Appazur Dashboard Import

Instructions:

From the Dashboard home page, go to Classes/Groups.
Click the Import button (in the upper right corner).
Click the Add Import Data button (in the upper right corner).
Choose the CSV file that you exported from the SIS (it may be in Downloads).
Click Save. Note that this is just a "Dry Run" - nothing will actually take effect yet!
After a short delay, you should see a page that lists the results of your import.
Scroll through, looking for ERRORs and WARNINGs. See:

If you make changes in the SIS, go back to the Add Import Data step and repeat. Or, go back to the Import Data page, click on the link under Import Type in the first row, click Choose File, and choose the new export.
If you cannot resolve all the ERRORS, contact Support for review and assistance.
If you have resolved any errors, click Import to complete

Finally, go to Classes/Groups in the App Dashboard and check that the data is listed correctly.
