Quick Share consists of two optional app features, described in this document:
Here is the status of this feature for upcoming Sunnycrest High app releases:
To check if the current version of the app has either of these optional features, look for a (+) icon at the top right of the Messages tab:
The Quick Share feature is great for community engagement, allowing parents and students to submit photos (e.g. of school events) for sharing with all app users.
New in version 5.5: Users can share with any class or group they are subscribed to.
Here’s how to use it:
You cannot use this feature if:
The Send Now button is not shown unless signed in with a staff account.
When staff are on the move, or if they want to take and share a photo, it can be more convenient to use the optional Quick Share app feature, rather than accessing the App Dashboard to create a Message.
New in version 5.5: Staff can share with any class or group that they have Dashboard permissions for.
Here’s how to use it:
There is also a Submit for Approval button. This is useful if you are both a parent and a staff member, or if you’d like to see how this feature works for parents/students.
You cannot use this feature if:
When a user submits a photo, a draft Message is created (and is visible under Messages in the Dashboard). When the message is approved, it will be published and sent as a notification.
If you’ve received an approval request message, see Approving a Submitted Photo below.
If a parent or student chooses Share with Everyone, an approval notification will be sent to the subscriber(s) of the unlisted **Approvers ** Group.
To grant or revoke responsibility to approve submitted photos, edit the **Approvers ** group, click Subscribers, and add or remove a staff member. Note that staff cannot subscribe to this group from the app.
If that group does not exist or has no subscribers, an email will be sent to the primary contact for the app.
In this case, the staff with permission for the group will receive the approve/reject message. This is typically a school administrator, for a school group in a district app, the teacher responsible for a class, or the staff member responsible for the group.
If no one has been granted permissions for the group, an email will be sent to the primary contact for the app.
You will receive a push notification, email, and/or text message:
When you tap on the message in the app, or click on the link in the email or text, you’ll see a preview of the message, with Approve and Reject buttons:
When the message is approved, it will be published and sent as a notification.
